The main trends of the autumn-winter 2023/2024 season, according to Bayers

Following the conclusion of the autumn-winter 2023/2024 shows, Bayers unanimously agreed on the utilitarian nature of this season's key trends. However, the elements of surrealism that dominated the last few seasons are also not giving up. Vogue asked buyers from around the world to predict the season's trends that will really sell.

Minimalism of the 1990s

"1990s minimalism—with sleek cuts, monochrome palettes, sleek silhouettes, and leather—really dominated the catwalks this season. This trend counters the abundance of decor we've seen over the past few seasons," Libby Page, Marketing Director of Net- A-Porter.

Red

"Following Rihanna's performance at the Super Bowl, we've seen red take off in a big way. What we love about trendy colors is that they're usually the easiest way to instantly incorporate trends into your wardrobe. If you're not ready to wear red with head to toe, then accessorize it," Libby Page, marketing director, Net-A-Porter.

Transparency

"The fashion weeks offered many interesting new trends. Ann Demeulemeester, Victoria Beckham and Loewe presented sheer pieces such as silk dresses, light skirts and chiffon tops," said Tiffany Hsu, vice president of womenswear and children's buying at Mytheresa.
